Indelpro's polypropylene offers to the Mexican domestic market slipped by 9 cents/lb this week for spot sales, as per Platts. Indelpro offered to the domestic market at 82 cents/lb CIF for homo raffia and injection, 83 cents/lb CIF for homo film and at 87 cents/lb CIF for co-polymer.
This can be attributed mainly to slow demand in May, and expected fall in June raw material prices in Mexico. June propylene CP for the Mexican domestic market could go down 10 cents/lb ($220/mt) following the May contract price movement in the US.
Mexico has a propylene formula closely linked to the US contract price movements with a month lag. The propylene CP for the domestic Mexican market in May was stable compared to April at US$1558/mt FOB for chemical-grade propylene.
For exports to the Andean countries and Central America, Indelpro's polypropylene offers slipped US$100/mt over May and were heard at US$1650/mt CFR for homo polymer and at US$1750/mt CFR for co-polymer.
