Talks are underway between Qatar's state-run petroleum company Qatar Petroleum, Itochu and Siam Cement Public Co., for a petrochem JV in Vietnam, as per Al-Attiyah. The complex is being planned to be built on the island of Long Son and come onstream in 2015, will use natural-gas-derived liquefied petroleum gas from Qatar. Capacity being planned at the 1.4 mln ton plant will include polyethylene and poly vinyl chloride plastics at an outlay of US$4 bln.
