World premier unveiled by MAGPLASTIC ASIA PVT LTD

Blow-moulding specialist Magplastic Asia unveiled its new machine and introduced its mould design & production facility at this year's PLASTINDIA exhibition, enabling new standards of efficiency in linear technology to be reached. Short presence in India with major contributions Until the early 00's Magplastic advanced blow moulding technologies were exported to India from Switzerland. In order to be closer to the market needs and to offer more competitive machines, Magplastic set up in 2004 a manufacturing operation in Pune. MAGPLASTICASIA PVT LTD was born. Few months after its inauguration, the state-of-the-art-plant of 2'400 m2, saw the first "Indian made "machine leaving the place. Today, more than 60 machines have been already sold in India and the will and desire to innovate and contribute to India's industrial development is still so vivid. With pride, Magplastic launched at Plastindia the LBM-05, the fastest "Indian made "linear 2 stage blow moulding machine. Not satisfied with this world premier, Magplastic Asia also inaugurated its mould design and production unit (EMU). Booming demand and changing industry needs At the time of Magplastic Asia's stetting up in Pune, needs were for flexible, high performing, mid output machines. The SSB range available from Pune with its 2 and 3 cavity machines met perfectly those expectations. Thanks to their advanced technologies (preferential heating, neck orientation, special preform loading device), the SSB02 and the SSB03 evolved rapidly as the reference blow moulders for all the leading Indian custom moulders and bottlers. Following continuous 2 digits growth for years in the PET packaging demand, custom moulders and bottlers expect machines with larger outputs. Parent company Magplastic based in Switzerland anticipated those changes and integrated in late 2006, the LBM and SLC technologies. With its extended line up, the company started offering production solutions with output up to 12'000 and capabilities to blow bottles up to 26.5L. In India, the roll out of LBM technology started in 2008 with the objective to bring, early 2009, to the market an exportable 5 cavity automatic machine at a competitive price and with top class performances. A machine re-engineered and fabricated in one year Magplastic Asia's team was in front of a real challenge: in less than a year, adapting the LBM technology to India & export markets, fabricating a new 5 cavity machine while ensuring a 100% reliability of the machine. Thanks to the close and steady collaboration with Magplastic team based in Switzerland, Indian engineers brilliantly succeeded. With the exception of few, majority of parts & components were locally sourced. Exhaustive and extended in house trial runs were conducted at both locations to optimize and confirm machine's performances. A compact blow moulder with exceptional performances and flexibility With the capability of blowing quality bottles in format from 0.2 L to 2.0L at an output up to 6'000 bp/h, the LBM-05 is the fastest " made in India " blow moulder. Requiring only nominal floor space (around 10m2), the machine is easy to operate and very flexible enabling prompt production changes. The ergonomic machine design allows quick & easy access to all major modules and transparency on the production process. The LBM-05 can be easily integrated to a production line. Downstream, it can be smoothly and precisely linked, for instance, to any conveyors. The machine complies with the EC & UL norms offering high standards of quality and safety. A compilation of state of art machinery technologies The LBM-05 concept is based on the proven European LBM technology and adapted to the Indian specificities. As the SSB range is designed for the production of complex shaped bottles at low output (up to 3'800 bp/h), the LBM range of machine is aimed for the bottlers for whom the output rate is essential. The LBM-05 key technical features include: the high performance multiphase heating system, the latest Siemens operating system, the quick mold change system, the electric stretching system resulting all in significant power savings and low operating and maintenance cost. The multi-phase heating system allows the advanced adjustment, optimization, and monitoring of the preform heating process. Compiling the flexibility, ease to operate of a linear machine with the higher output rate and the production consistency of the rotary blow moulders; the LBM-05 is designed to conquer India. In house mould design for even stronger and more complete service Simultaneously with the launch of the machine, Magplastic Asia inaugurated its mould design and production unit EMU. Equipped with the latest in hardware and software, Magplastic Asia is capable of producing molds for its blow moulders, having a significant positive impacts on the quality, price and lead time of the PET bottle production.
