03-Aug-19 Autotech-Sirmax India has announced the launch of a complete range of specialty Engineering Thermoplastics Compounds (ETPs) in the Indian market using technology from Sirmax S.p.A. Italy. The launch coincides with a newly expanded, state-of-the-art, fully automated compounding plant at Valsad, Gujarat, and Palwal (near Delhi), with a capacity of over 40000 tpa. The company (a JV between Tipco group and Sirmax) will use the ISO and DAFNE brands of Sirmax for its ETP compounds. The launch has facilitated augmentation of the entire range of Polypropylene Compounds that Autotech-Sirmax supplies to major OEMs and Tier-1s in India since 1980s along with its proprietary range of Long-Fibre Thermoplastics Compounds.
With significant investments in manufacturing and technology in India, the company now offers the Indian market a wide portfolio of ETP Compounds based on Polyamides (PA6, PA66, PA Blends), Styrenics (ABS, SAN, etc.) Polycarbonate (PC), Thermoplastic Polyesters (PBT, PET), and Speciality Blends (PC/ABS, PC/PBT, PA/ABS, PPE/PS, etc.). All these compounds are available with Fillers & Reinforcements such as Glass Filers, Minerals, Glass Beads, Mineral Fibres, and Combi-Hybrids. All the ETP compounds are also available with Custom Colours, UV/Heat-Stability, Fire-Retardant, HSLR/HSL Hydrolysis-Resistance, Impact-Modified, High-Flow, Special Aesthetics, Thermal/Electrical Conductivity, etc. As a One-Stop-Shop for all Thermoplastics Compounds, the company supplies to the Automotive (Passenger car, 2 & 3-Wheelers, EVs, Commercial vehicles, Indian Railways, Hybrids vehicles), Electricals (Switches, Switch-Gear, Lighting, Contactors, Circuit-Breakers), Appliances (Washing Machines, Refrigerators, Air-Conditioners, Dish-Washers, Water-Purifiers, Heaters), Power-Tools, Furniture, Building & Construction, Electronics (Laptops, PCs, Smartphones, Tablets), Medical Products and Sporting Goods.
With renewed focus on Light-Weighting, Electric vehicles, ELV/Emission norms and Bharat VI Compliance, Autotech-Sirmax has set-up a Product Design Centre in Pune. This centre works closely with OEMs and TIER-1s to deliver significant design inputs on several ongoing projects, including support for environment friendly solutions, concept design, process simulation, MoldFlow® Support and CAE / FEA tools for structural, vibration and impact simulations. The Design Centre is currently running over 30 projects for various components and assembly systems which use its ETP Compounds. Several years ago, the company also established a Materials Development Centre at Valsad which is equipped with high speed laboratory twin-screw extruder and is supported by full Quality Assurance Lab for material testing which covers Physical, Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical, Rheological, and Colour testing.
