Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, will demonstrate the performance and processing benefits offered by the latest film and moulding grade additions to its pioneering ranges of polyolefins for the pharmaceutical, food packaging and white goods industries at Plast '09 in Milan (Pavilion 20 Stand B24, March 24-28, 2009). The company will debut its new Borpure™ HDPE grades MB6561, MB6562 and MB7541 for the caps and closures market. As per the company claims, the Borpure HDPE materials maintain high-level environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR) and a stiffness/impact balance that allows lower weight finished caps to be produced. They also fulfill packaging industry demands for increased cycle speeds and outstanding food and drink preservation through retention of natural odour and taste.
The company will launch the first polypropylene (PP) for white goods sector capable of matching the glossy aesthetics of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic polymers. The company claims the new Borcom™ BG055AI PP grade cute cycle time by 6% and shrinks machine weight. Adding to this, film converters can look forward to a new addition to the Bormed™ family for PP cast films. The company says Bormed RE806CF offers outstanding purity and very high transparency, even after sterilization, making it ideally suited to the food and medical packaging markets.
