SABIC Europe adds UHMWPE to its polyolefins portfolio

In a bid to expand its material portfolio in high growth sectors, SABIC Europe has added an Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) range to its extended polyolefins product portfolio under the brand name SABIC® UHMWPE. The launch of SABIC® UHMWPE will include the pre-marketing and sales of four new grades from January 2009. As per a company statement, the pre-marketing has started to create awareness for SABIC's four new UHMWPE grades - covering a broad molar mass and impact range - amongst existing and potential SABIC clients. Due to high impact strength and extremely abrasive resistance SABIC®UHMWPE is the perfect material for many applications: bearings, guide rails and conveying systems in packaging and bottling plants, seals, valves, pumps, filter plates, linings for rail wagons and trucks, cutting and chopping boards.
