Plastic processing machinery sector revolves around both organized and unorganized sectors.
This makes it possible for an entrepreneur to procure machines which involve lower costs,
thereby minimizing the risks involved in a business; as well as high end machines which
involve higher outputs.
Versatility of the product which includes the versatility of the polymer as well as the
final plastic product, helps the entrepreneurs in monetary gains as well as by increasing the
capacity utilization of their machinery. Versatility of the machine capable of producing more than a single product helps
entrepreneurs achieve a higher net profitability, further contributing to the
versatility of both the plastic processing industry as well as the polymer industry.
A tape extruder is capable of manufacturing PP Ropes and PP/HDPE Sutli with additional
attachment. Also, on a PPTQ film plant, one can manufacture PP Sutli with additional
attachment. On a Monofilament plant, Box strapping and cane for chairs can be made.
An existing HDPE Woven sack manufacturer can also produce HDPE Agrishade Nets and
HDPE Raschel bags leading to an increase in product mix thus a higher net profitability.
India, being the No.1 producer of fruits (India accounts for 30 million tons out of 370 million tons of fruits
production in the world) and No.2 producer of vegetables (Indias share is 59 million tons out of the
456 million tons of vegetables produced in the world) in the world, a huge potential exists for HDPE
Agrishade Nets. Multifarious applications with an additional investment on ancillary
equipments such as knitting machines etc would make the entrepreneurs achieve a better bargaining
power during the supply of final products.
Tapping of new applications in this industry such as PP Reverse Printed Laminated Woven Sacks as well as
PP Laminated Leno bags, is the need of the hour. This will bring in a larger number of applications/end
uses in this industry, thereby resulting in a widened product range that makes it possible for the
entrepreneur to achieve a higher net profitability owing to a higher product mix.
The key factor for growth of the plastic processing industry is the ability of the machinery to
offer a wide range of applications making entrepreneurs seek alternatives in business. This will
lead to better net profitability with a product mix on one single machine.
Net Savings to the plastic product manufacturers as well as end users offers the benefit of
achieving a higher market penetration would lead to more and more plastic products in the
Indian Industry.
Higher penetration of plastic products will be boosted by a Cost comparison of the plastic
products with the conventional materials products, and an emphasis on lower costs plastic products.
Increased consumption of virgin material by the processing industry continues to bring in a healthier
industry leading to a growing number of new investments.
The polymer consumption in India is being determined by sales of plastic processing machinery.
This is a reflection of the latest trends taking place in the machinery sector which helps in
fuelling the growth of the polymer industry.
The convertors in the woven sack business procure small second hand tape extruders at a very low rate from the
bigger players who phase out the old machinery and replace with high capacity machinery. Today, convertors are
becoming the processors- this indicates a positive development in the woven sack industry.
Phasing out old low output machines and replacement with high output machines in the raffia industry, in turn leading to a
higher net profitability owing to higher volumes would result into higher growth in polymer consumption.
Also, the Medium Scale units in the raffia industry continue to sell their old low output machines to the
small scale units leading to more number of low output machines for reconditioning which is done by the
existing tape extruder manufacturers.
Accessories/Spare parts such as godgets, screws, barrels is being sought by many
processors for phasing out old/outdated accessories and increasing the outputs of the machines.
Modern trends related to products further geared by the developments in the machinery will
lead to a high growth in the polymer consumption leading to more additions in the number of
plastic units in the country.
Modernisation of Machinery in Global markets Automation for Heavy Loads
Modernisation in machinery both in tape extrusion, looms, winding machines that bring in
mechanical and electrical innovations is the need of the hour today in India. Also,
new developments in the area of winding machines would lead to an easy operation.
New designs in the machinery bringing in low energy consumption and wear and tear makes
it possible for the entrepreneurs and existing processors in achieving a higher net
profitability would help the plastic woven sack industry grow at a faster pace.
Further, higher output tape extruders helps entrepreneurs in minimizing the cost of
conversion coupled with a higher net profitability would further speed up the growth
of this industry.
Circular Weaving Machines
Are available. The centerpiece of the machine is a drive unit which rotates at 170 rev/min
producing about three meters of woven tubular cloth every minute. The double flat working
width can vary between 30- 85 centimeters. These circular weaving machines achieve pick
rates of upto 1000 ppm while reducing both energy consumption and wear and tear which is based
on a modular frequency converter concept for all drives. In addition ease of operation is
maximized, ensuring immense efficiency during the weaving process. For example, if the machine
is stopped, then the drive unit positions itself at an optimal location so that the user can
replace the spools. The modularly structured control components save costs during series
production for many reasons, one of these being the reduced effort needed for cabling and installation.
Winding Machines
Provide multiple rollers and drives for upto 360 spools. Each of these is independently
controlled using the yarn tension from the force sensor and wound at upto 500 meters per
minute onto 20 or 25 cm long spools.
Conclusion
Achieving lower energy consumption coupled with higher volumes of business, lowering the
costs of production, bringing in more and more number of new investments in India, would result into higher machine building capacities, a mirror reflection of the high
growth of the plastic woven sack industry.
