Until now, injection molders' options were
limited to two basic choices: spend costly time
manually cleaning the equipment or use purging
chemicals that never quite seem to do a complete
job.
Spirex has introduced PowerPurge: A System
for cleaning hard to remove resins, an automatic,
self-cleaning injection unit for rapid resin
and color transitions without the need to pull
screws. The Powerpurge Valve is a three-piece
design consisting of a retainer body and check
ring with PowerPurge lock. These components
are made from wear-resistant tool steels. The
valve functions as a normal non-return valve
with good repeatability over a variety of resins
while also providing the mechanism required
to perform automatic self-cleaning.
