| The result of 4 years of development in Rhodia’s research centers, Emanause® is a polyamide 66 yarn which incorporates bioactive mineral crystals in its polymer matrix, making it possible to produce clothes that promote a high level of interaction between the fabric and skin, improving blood microcirculation and cellular metabolism. Emanause® is the latest innovation in textiles from Rhodia, member of the Solvay group. Proven in scientific studies, the benefits of clothing made include improved skin elasticity and smoothness, postponed muscle fatigue and reduced signs of cellulite. The product is recommended for all types of clothing, including underwear, shapewear, sportswear and fashion, seeking to promote consumer health and wellbeing. With patents applied worldwide, the benefits of this innovative yarn have been successfully assessed by independent world-class laboratories, through recognized scientific protocols, clinical tests and rigorous statistical data treatment. It has also been certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100 - Class 1, being suitable for manufacturing of any type of clothing, including for children. Products made from Emanause® also feature a versatile range of colors, do not lose their functionality when washed (permanent effect) and, like any conventional polyamide 66, are easily washed and kept. Just as with other products made from Rhodia’s microfibers, articles made from Emanause® are lightweight and offer a unique feeling of comfort, thanks to the gentle touch of polyamide 66. “Solvay has obtained a European patent protecting the use of its innovative emanause® smart fiber, from the European Patent Office (EPO).
A polymer targeting the textile market improves skin feel, higher moisture absorbance, improved dye absorbance and 47% renewable carbon. It is produced in a proprietary continuous-flow process from plant sugars. It offers performance attributes previously unavailable to the fiber markets from synthetic materials. Terryluse® has been unveiled by Cathay Industrial Biotech Ltd. Terryluse® PA56 and DN5 will be made in Cathay’s Shandong based LCDA fermentation facilities.  Cathay Industrial Biotech has developed novel, proprietary technology to produce a five carbon diamine, 1,5-pentane diamine, from 100% renewable carbon. Their preliminary tests have found this novel diamine should have comparable performance to the currently used six carbon diamine, 1,6-hexamethylene diamine (HMDA), in many common nylon applications, while potentially also offering new properties in certain specialty applications. The five carbon diamine itself has been studied by many nylon producers, but has not been commercially available with viable economics until now. Cathay is a leader in industrial biotechnology, has provided long-chain diacids (LCDA) since 2003 to the polymer industry. The successful start-up of the 1,5 pentane diamime (DN5) in 2013 added a diamine to Cathay’s monomer platform. This new diamine is produced from 100% plant sugars using a patented process developed in Cathay’s Shanghai Research Center.  Commercial production of Terryl, is expected to be started is H1-of 2015.

INVISTA, one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers, and owner of the LYCRAus® brand, has introduced the only commercial offering of a bio-derived spandex available globally and for use in a wide variety of apparel fabrics and garments. Approximately 70% by weight of the new LYCRAuse®, bio-derived spandex fiber comes from a renewable source made from dextrose derived from corn. The use of a renewable feedstock in the making of this new bio-derived fiber results in a lower CO2 emissions footprint than spandex produced using traditional raw materials. With this new brand offering, INVISTA is providing retailers and manufacturers of stretch fabrics a spandex fiber option that can impact the overall lifecycle analysis of the fabric and garment. The new fiber is made to the company's high standards and specifications. Therefore, INVISTA does not anticipate a need to re-engineer fabrics and finishing processes, or garment patterns.

INVIYA, India’s premium elastomeric fiber which is being produced by Indorama Industries Limited since 2012, has recently enhanced its existing range of products with the launch of I-300 series to cater to the growing demands of specialized products and customer needs. I-300 series products have significantly higher tenacity and strength. This enables the customers of INVIYA to run their equipment at higher speeds without worrying about rupture of filaments, which is a common phenomenon with low quality products. In addition to that, I-300 products have higher running loads and better frictional properties, which impart greater degree of stretch and recovery to all kinds of textile manufacturing processes like core spinning, draw texturizing and circular knitting. I-300 products have greater resistance to heat, which makes it suitable for working along with any other textile material like polyester, viscose, cotton or blend of more than one textile raw material and retain the elastic properties & dimensional stability even after exposure to high temperatures during processing. Garments produced with I-300 products result in better shape retention after prolonged wearing of stretch products like denims, bottoms weights, leggings and intimate wear.
