In a latest update, 375 select international buyers from 60 + countries have already registered for the all-important RBSM at PLEXCONNECT 2023. Raw materials, plastic processing machinery & equipment and value-added plastics attract great buyer interest.
The soon to be held PLEXCONNECT 2023, a dedicated trade exhibition being organized for the Indian plastics export industry from June 15-17, 2023 by The Plastics Export Promotion Council of India (Plexconcil) has been gaining quick recognition from global buyers of plastics.
PLEXCONNECT 2023 which will be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), in Mumbai is the first ever export focused exhibition for plastics in India.
“Indian exports of plastics have been growing at a steady pace 8.2% in the past almost a decade. The global export market for plastics is valued at USD 1.2 Trillion with India’s share being just about 1.1% with the potential to garner 3% by 2025. Post Covid, there have been great disruptions in the global supply chains, and we believe that rather than being the alternate to sourcing from China, our industry has the resources and the capabilities to become the world’s leading hub to source plastics,” said Hemant Minocha, Chairman, Plexconcil.
Poised to become an important event in the international event calendar for plastics, the planned RBSM will feature 600 select international buyers from 100+ countries who are being invited to network and conduct trade with Indian plastics exporters during the exhibition. Plexconcil with the support of the MEA has been in constant coordination with 45 Indian embassies and foreign missions to promote and attract buyers from their respective regions. Over 150 embassies have been contacted for the global promotion of the event.
PLEXCONNECT 2023 has been envisaged as a stage that most importantly is export focused. “We anticipate that the recent ECTA signed with Australia, CEPA with UAE and more on the anvil, will open immense opportunities for Indian plastic exports. Our industry has been working towards not just strengthening processing capacities but remains committed to Zero Defect (ZED), as well as environmental regulations in India and globally. This strategic move is based on the long-term goals of creating an industry that is socio-economical- environmental conscious industry and compliant with international regulations and policies. Through PLEXCONNECT 2023, we aim to showcase the latest developments taking place in our industry to a global audience,” said Sribash Dasmohapatra, ED, Plexconcil.
The new FTP released on March 31 this year places renewed thrust on emerging areas like e-commerce, streamlining of the SCOMET policy, provision for merchanting trade and encouraging overseas transactions in INR with an aim to make it a global currency are forward looking moves. Through various initiatives, it also aims to build financial capabilities and further recommendations to reduce the barriers and increase MSME involvement and competitiveness in international trade.
Focused on promoting MSME exports from the country in line with the Govt’s vision, the exhibition will also allow MSME & new exporters to observe and learn about global trends and demand for Indian plastics, along with myriad benefits of becoming an exporter.“Efforts are being made by the Council to work with the MSME Ministry to extend grant under the PMS Scheme to the MSME exporters which will help facilitate their participation at very minimal or no cost to them,” continued Sribash Dasmohaptra.
In addition to eleven (11) finished product categories that will be on showcase, PLEXCONNECT 2023 will also feature machinery, and manufacturers of moulds and dies.
The Governments of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will bring their State Pavilions to the exhibition, and we also expect some other northern state participation.
International buyer delegations from Korea, Brazil, Indonesia, Israel, Kyrgystan, and Uzbekistan, have confirmed their attendance in addition to the 375registered individual buyers.
PLEXCONNECT 2023 is supported by the Ministry of Commerce, DCPC as well as the MSME Ministry.
