Cereplast, Inc. (USA), a leading manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, will supply Dorel Juvenile Group (USA), a division of Dorel Industries Inc, with bio-plastic resin for its Safety 1ST Nature Next™ brand, a new line of reduced carbon footprint juvenile products. Dorel has launched four new products in this line, including a bathtub and step stool, using Cereplast Hybrid Resins® as a replacement for conventional oil based polypropylene. "It is encouraging to see an increasing number of manufacturers developing and manufacturing products using sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based plastics," says Frederic Scheer, Chairman and CEO of Cereplast. The Dorel Juvenile Group's bioplastic small furniture collection is the first of its kind in the juvenile industry. Cereplast, Inc. designs and manufactures proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics which are used as substitutes for petroleum-based plastics in all major converting processes - such as injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding and extrusions - at a pricing structure that aims to be competitive with petroleum-based plastics.
