Developments that will influence flame retardancy and flame retardant plastics industry

06-Aug-10
A unique business conference and exhibition is being held for all companies involved in flame retardancy and flame retardant plastics to learn about the latest developments that will influence the industry. AMI is pleased to announce that the 5th edition of the Fire Resistance in Plastics Conference will take place from 7-9 December 2010 in Düsseldorf. Health and safety issues are requiring ever higher standards for fire resistance in a wide range of consumer and industrial products where plastics are used, such as household appliances, computer housings, automotive interiors and cables. New flame retardant systems are constantly developed to meet both product safety and environmental concerns regarding these additive products. The event will bring together a panel of experts to discuss the latest state of the art in flame retardancy with presentations from ENSCL-ISP/UMET, Polytechnic Of Turin, CREPIM, Albermarle Europe SPRL, Adeka Palmarole SAS, Perstorp AB, Nabaltec AG, PINFA, Lanxess Deutschland GmbH, Chemtura technology (Belgium) N.V., ICL-IP Europe B.V., BASF, Thor GmbH, University of Bolton, ITRI Ltd. and Flame Retardants Associate Inc. Dr. Jürgen Troitzsch, who is the author of the "Plastics Flammability Handbook” will be giving a keynote presentation on fire safety regulations and testing developments in building, transportation, electrical engineering and electronics. Dr. Günther Beyer from Kabelwerk Eupen AG, who is a very well known expert in this field will be chairing the conference and also giving an overview of 10 years of global research of flame retardancy by nanocomposites. The event is sponsored by Dyneon GmbH and supported by the Phosphorus, Inorganic and Nitrogen Flame Retardants Association (PINFA).
