Formosa's No. 1 ethylene plant running at 70% capacity

Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp.'s its No. 1 ethylene plant is currently operating at 70% capacity. The 700,000 tpa No. 1 ethylene plant was shut on April 6 because of a power outage. Formosa Petrochemical, which operates three naphtha processing plants with a combined ethylene capacity of 2.9 mln tpa, will rely on ethylene inventories to meet delivery commitments. The incident cut Formosa Petrochemical's ethylene output by at least 4,200 tons.
