Iran’s Jam Petrochemical has partially restarted its Assaluyeh cracker complex and has resumed exports of polyethylene (PE), following a 24 day maintenance shutdown, as per ICIS. The second cracker is still under maintenance and is expected to restart by end of month. Operations have resumed at its 300,000 tpa high density PE (HDPE) line and awaits resumption at its 300,000 tpa linear low density PE (LLDPE)/HDPE swing unit.
Ethylene feedstock for the two PE units is sourced from the company's 1.32 mln tpa ethane cracker which was restarted after a turnaround at the end of last week.
Jam’s monthly exports of around 40,000-50,000 tons per month of PE, were halted due to the shutdown.
