Bangalore based Packaging Group Manjushree Extrusions Ltd. recently announced its change of name to Manjushree Technopack Ltd, with immediate effect. While the company will retain brand 'Manjushree' as a part of the new name, it has been decided to replace 'Extrusions' and usher in 'Technopack', to represent better, the company's two core business offerings, Packaging Technology and Packaging Solutions.
Manjushree Technopack will continue to specialise in rigid plastic packaging and providing packaging solutions that include PET Preforms, PET and PP Bottles and Jars. They will also continue to serve a clientele that includes leading names in the FMCG, Pharma and F&B industries, such as Unilever, P&G, Cadbury, Nestle, GSK, Coke, Pepsi etc.
Explaining the rationale for the change of name, Mr. Vimal Kedia, Managing Director, Manjushree Technopack, said "We are very conscious of the fact that our name must indicate what we do and the value that we add to our client's businesses. When we started 25 years back, 'Extrusions' probably did the job but over the last quarter of a century we have changed, our offerings have evolved; our value proposition has become many times stronger. While we are in the business of providing Packaging Solutions, the Technology that we bring to the table in the design and execution of packaging mandates for clients have become a key differentiator for us. We believe the name, "Manjushree Technopack" describes us a lot better."
Manjushree has been listed in the Bombay Stock Exchange since 2008 and registered a growth of 53% on PAT (Profit after Tax) for the quarter ending in Dec 2008. The company earned worldwide recognition for its packaging excellence by winning the prestigious WorldStar Award for Packaging this year, for two of its designs in the food packaging category; Quaker Oats Jar and the Rhodes Peaches Multilayer Jar.
At its facility in Bangalore, Manjushree houses a Packaging Innovation centre and Library with 4000+ products from world over and a Heritage Packaging Museum which chronicles how packaging has evolved over the years. In addition, Mphinite, a Manjushree Group Company, also provides Outsourced Engineering Services.
