The month of September saw Polypropylene demand strengthen in Mexico’s domestic market, despite the offer price increases of 2.5 cents/lb over August levels, as per Platts. As per convention, sales volumes increase between July and September as costumers build inventories for end of the year festivities. Generally the final products are ready to go to the stores in the end of October.
September polypropylene demand in Mexico is expected to be on par with August levels and possibly stronger. For the Mexican polypropylene export market, resin offers had an increase of US$55/mt related to August. After the hike, Mexican offers to Central America and Andean countries were heard at US$1720-1770/mt FOB for homo injection and raffia and at US$1820-1870/mt FOB for co-polymer.
