A burst of nitrogen gas results in multiple deaths at Sinopec Qilu

A burst of nitrogen gas at Sinopec Qilu Company Ltd. in China's Shandong province has killed about five perons and injured one as reported by rttnews.com. The accident occurred at 8:38 p.m. when workers were filling production facilities with nitrogen gas during routine maintenance work caused by a dislodged pipe. This incident follows a small fire that occurred on August 26 believed to be caused by an oil leak from a pipeline. This incident forced the company to shut down a furnace that processes naphtha into ethylene.
