ABS prices in Asia have seen a further downward revision by about twenty dollars more, upto US$2080/MT levels, as demand from China continues to be lackluster. Typical offers for September shipment have been slashed on a hundred dollar dip in feedstock butadiene prices. Unenthusiastic demand from Chinese buyers, as well as falling feedstock SM and butadiene values pushed down ABS prices in Asia to US$2100/MT in the week of August 25, 2008, with few offers being quoted twenty dollars higher. These offers have not done well against offers cheaper by almost fifty dollars from domestic Chinese producers.
