Asian benzene plants hike run rates on demand recovery

As demand begins to recover in Asia, several benzene plants that have been running at reduced run rates are beginning to hike operations. Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) is mulling restart of the BTX plant at Japan's Mizushima upon resumption of feedstock supply from the upstream naphtha steam cracker. Indonesia's Pertamina has brought back on stream entire operation at the benzene umit of Cilacap Oil Refining Plant.
