Belarus to have new bottle grade PET polymer plant by 2015

11-Feb-11
In a move to reinforce its PET business, Mogilevkhimvolokno- a resin manufacturer from Belarus, plans to construct a new 120,000 tpa bottle grade PET polymer plant by 2015, at an outlay of €120 mln (US$163.7 mln). Mogilevkhimvolokno is the subsidiary of Minsk-based state-owned oil and chemicals company, Belneftekhim. Currently, the company operates a 80,000 tpa polycondensation plant, but the PET manufactured by it does not fulfill the international quality standards. The company has been planning expansion and upgradation of its PET plant and enhancement of polymer exports.
