China's BP YPC Acetyls will idle its 500,000 tpa Nanjing acetic acid plant for around 20 days from early August while its upstream carbon monoxide supply is interrupted due to maintenance, as per Platts. The shutdown is estimated to result in a potential cut in acetic acid output of around 27,000 tons.
BP YPC Acetyls is a 50:50 joint venture between BP and Yangzi Petrochemical Co (a Sinopec subsidiary).
