CNOOC and Shell Petrochemical Co. have received approval to expand capacity at their 800,000 tpa ethylene project in Huizhou, Guangdong province. Capacity will be increased to 950,000 tpa by 2010, at an estimated outlay of US$100 mln.
Preliminary work on the project is currently under way.
