Consortium led by Greenko Group plans petrochemical hub in south Odisha

A consortium headed by Hyderabad-based Greenko Group is reportedly planning to set up a petrochemical hub at Sonepur in south Odisha's Ganjam district. The project coming up as a part of the energy and oil city involving an investment of Rs 15,000 crore, will be implemented by Sonepur Energy & Oil City Ltd, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed for the purpose, as per Business Standard. The petrochemical hub includes a 7.5 mln tpa petroleum refinery. A gas cracker unit will also come up at the hub with a capacity of 0.3 mln tons of ethylene to produce polypropylene (PP), high density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene.
