Coperion awarded Euro 100 mln deal by Borouge

Coperion has been awarded its largest single contract; a Euro 100 mln deal by Borouge to build the entire materials handling systems for the third expansion stage of a large scale plant for the production of polyolefin in Ruwais, UAE. Coperion’s scope covers the procedural planning and all connected engineering services for the complete plant as well as the delivery of machines and key components for the handling, transport and warehousing of the bulk materials. Borouge is expansion of polyolefin capacity by around another 2,000000 tpa to a total of 4,500000 tpa. The scope of delivery consists of around 20 km of pipes, more than 120 rotary valves, about 280 diverter valves and 220 filters in addition to two ZSK 380 high performance extruders for compounding of the polypropylene. The engineering for the large scale project also requires about 90,000 hours.
