Delivery delays likely at ExxonMobil likely amid operational issues for LLDPE hexene at Texas plant

ExxonMobil Chemical is expecting limited availability for some polyethylene film grades and is likely to experience delivery delays due to operational issues at its Beaumont, Texas, plant, the company said in a letter to customers that was obtained by S&P Global Platts. ExxonMobil produces 225,00 m tpa of LLDPE at the Beaumont plant.
The unit that produces hexene linear low density polyethylene at the Beaumont plant experienced undisclosed issues, the company said in customer correspondence Monday.
It was unclear how long the operational issues were expected to persist. ExxonMobil spokeswoman Margaret Ross declined comment Tuesday, citing company policy to not comment on proprietary customer transactions.
