Development of Kazakhstan's petrochem industry planned

03-Aug-05
Development of petrochemical industries is one of the main components of diversifying national economy, as identified by the Government of Kazakhstan. This development is estimated at capital investments amounting to US$500 million a year during the next 15 years. As the country has an abundance of hydrocarbons, feedstock materials can be available at a competitive rate. However, the country does not have an efficiently developed petrochemical industry. This amounts to annual losses of surplus between sale of production and feedstock material as well as the raw feedstock itself. Specific proposals are being planned on the development of petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan and attracting investments. NEXANT LLP is the consultant of the project. The project has been divided into three phases, which include survey of the state of petrochemical industry, accurate estimation and scheduling of obtaining the goals.
