DINA-Petrokemija has started its polyethylene plant after expansion in Omisalj on northern Krk Island, Croatia at a cost of €18 mln. Capacity has been augmented from 70,000 tpa to 90,000 tpa.
State-of-the-art technology LUPOTECH T of Basell was implemented for the production of polyethylene DINALEN®. The new technology, which uses organic peroxides to initiate the polymerization of ethylene, has resulted in obtaining higher levels of stability of polymerization together with promotion of quality.
Plant modernization was commenced in April 2009, and is estimated to be complete by 2011 at an investment outlay of €100 mln to produce 500,000 tpa of polymers.
