In a move that will enable it to provide the region's textiles, petrochemical and oil and gas industries with silicon-based materials and solutions, Dow Corning Corp. has set up a Middle East headquarters in Manama, Bahrain. The office will house engineers, chemists and sales professionals with expertise in silicon-based technology.
The kingdom's unique access to other GCC countries, its highly skilled and competitive national workforce and some of the lowest operating costs in the region, make Bahrain an excellent base from which to develop new business opportunities in a cost-effective and sustainable way. Though the Bahrain office is the company's first location in the Middle East, the company has been active in the region for many years. Dow Corning is seeking collaboration opportunities in the region, not just with customers, but also with academic, government and other research organisations that are focused on innovating products and process to make them more efficient and environmentally sustainable.
After Russia and Vietnam, Dow Corning has set shop in Bahrain in an effort to expand globally and meet increased demand for silicone products and services around the world.
