Dow Chemical Co. could lose over 200 mln lbs of ethylene production as a result of an unplanned outage July 22 at its plant in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, as per PlasticsNews.com
As per a company statement, he affected ethylene unit “is currently back on line at low operating rates, and necessary repairs are being made to bring the operating rates back to full production as quickly as possible.” The outage could further tighten the North American polyethylene market, which already had been impacted by outages at ethylene units operated by LyondellBasell Industries and Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.
