Dow Chemical Company will invest an estimated US$105 mln on a plant expansion at its Seadrift site. Construction on a plant to produce catalysts used to make high density polyethylene will break ground at the end of August, said Teresa Keating, site manager, as per victoriaadvocate.com.
The plant is planned to get to be fully operational early in 2019, and construction will last through 2018. Calhoun County officials approved a tax abatement in July 2016 making the expansion partially tax exempt from 2018 until 2023.
