19-Sep-08
Owing to the Hurricane Ike's surge damage at DuPont's Sabine facility in Orange, Texas, the company on Wednesday declared "force majeure" for its ethylene copolymers business. However, it is not clear when restart will occur as per preliminary assessment of damages. DuPont is working closely with its customers to lessen the impact on their business. DuPont has teams reviewing the storm surge damage to begin making necessary repairs as soon as possible in order to restart operations.
