Eastman to expand 2-EH capacity at Longview, Texas

Eastman plans to expand 2-EH capacity at Longview, Texas to increase capacity by approximately 32,000 tons by mid- 2012. The expansion plan will include a 4,500 ton debottleneck in October of 2010 for a total capacity increase near 37,000 metric tons. In support of the 2-EH expansion, butyraldehyde capacity will be expanded to 40,000 tons at the site. "This increase in capacity reinforces our commitment to reliably supply our 2-EH customers while also supporting growth in our plasticizer business for products like Eastman 168 non-phthalate plasticizer," said Ron Lindsay, executive vice president, performance polymers and chemical intermediates.
