Eastman Chemical Company announces the continued expansion of its non-phthalate plasticizer portfolio with the addition of Eastman VersaMax™ Plus plasticizer. VersaMax Plus is an enhanced, general-purpose, non-phthalate solution that provides better efficiency, improved dry time, lower and stable plastisol viscosity, and faster fusion when compared to traditional ortho-phthalate plasticizers and other non-phthalate options. It is the second product installment in the VersaMax family of plasticizers, designed to offer flexible solutions for plastisol manufacturers and dry-blend compounders. “Increasingly, market trends and ongoing regulatory scrutiny are triggering manufacturers to switch from using ortho-phthalate plasticizers, like DEHP and DINP, to non-phthalate alternatives and at an accelerating rate,” says Eastman Plasticizers Business Manager, Brian Yobst. “VersaMax and our newest option, VersaMax Plus, can provide consistent and optimal performance when compared to the long-established industry standards, DEHP and DINP, making switching to non-phthalate alternatives easier for formulators.”
VersaMax Plus offers improved dry times, faster fusion, enhanced plasticizer compatibility, and high efficiency, demonstrating performance consistent to DEHP (di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate) across a variety of Shore A hardness levels while outperforming DINP (diisononyl phthalate).
