Finnish company Finnplast is to acquire Dynea's PVC production facility, owned by Sweden's Industri Kapital. This sale, likely to be complete by the end of next month, is to involve Dynea's 100,000 tpa PVC plant at Porvoo, for an undisclosed amount. The Dynea facility is noted to have produced PVC for Shin Etsu under a toll agreement for the last 6 years. Dynea also has a compounding capacity of 15,000tpa in addition to a resin production capacity.
Products such as industrial glues and coatings, including formaldehyde-based resins are known to form the core business of this company. Finnplast is owned by International Petrochemical Group, a trading and distribution company with a turnover in 2004 of US$280mln.
