04-Nov-15
Flooding from heavy rainfall shut down Chevron Phillips Chemical's entire Cedar Bayou, Texas, chemical plant yesterday, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, as per www.argusmedia.com. All units at the site were shut down, including ethylene, normal alpha olefins, and polyethylene units. The restart process is expected to continue through 22 November, and will result in emissions of ethylene, benzene, propylene, propane, toluene, xylenes and other materials.
