GAIL (India) Ltd. has received approval from its board to double capacity at the Pata petrochemical complex in Uttar Pradesh to 800,000 tpa. A detailed report will be made, based on which the company will work out the investments required for doubling capacity at Pata. Another project approved by the board, in principle, is the Vijayawada-Vijaipur Pipeline (VVP) running through central India. Current installed capacity at Pata is 410,000 tpa. The company proposes to augment the plant capacity to 500,000 tpa, gradually going up to 800,000 tpa.
