Gail (Gas Authority of India Ltd.) has licensed Mitsui Chemicals’ production process for a new 100,000tpa HDPE plant at Pata in Uttar Pradesh, northern India. Gail’s No.2 HDPE plant is scheduled for completion in 2006.
Exisiting facilities at the site include a 100,000tpa HDPE palnt and one HDPE/LLDPE plant with a 160,000tpa capacity. The decision to adopt MCI’s technology once again for its No.2 HDPE was based on GAIL's high regard for the performance of MCI process technology demonstrated by the No.1 plant.
