Malaysia’s Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd is targeting a 2016 start-up of the multi-billion dollar Petrochemical plant currently in the works at Pulau Muara Besar. Hengyi is one of the largest privately owned petrochemical and chemical fibre producers in China, and their petrochemical project at Pulau Muara Besar, according to early feasibility studies, could amount to around US$4 billion, making it the biggest overseas investment ever by a Chinese company.
