Hexion Specialty Chemicals (USA), one of the world's leading producers of epoxy resins, announced its intention to shift production of certain epoxy products within its global manufacturing operations due to reduced demand driven due to difficult market conditions. "Production of certain products will be regrouped within the Hexion manufacturing plants to improve production utilization and efficiency," said Paul Barletta, Vice-President, Global Manufacturing for the epoxy resins business. "Hexion will continue to use equivalent, if not the same, raw materials and manufacturing processes for these products and will maintain products' sales specifications," Barletta said.
The company said only certain products will be affected, and no products will be discontinued. Hexion manufactures epoxy resins and related products at facilities in Norco, Louisiana; Deer Park, Texas; Argo, Illinois; Lakeland, Florida; Barbastro, Spain; Duisburg, Stuttgart and Wesseling, Germany; Pernis, The Netherlands; Onsan, Korea; and Stanlow, The United Kingdom.
