Increase in prices of ethylene vinyl alcohol, vinyl acetate

Effective March 1, 2014, Kuraray America, Inc. will increase the price of all commercial and XEP grades of EVAL™ ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) by US$.06/lb or as contracts allow. Fixed costs have risen, and these increases are necessary to ensure our ability to provide adequate supply. Kuraray America, Inc. will make every effort to provide the same level of service and quality and innovative technologies that our customers have come to expect Celanese Corporation has confirmed the previously announced price increase of US$0.04/lb for all high VA (vinyl acetate) grades of Ateva® EVA, effective February 1, 2014. In addition, Celanese is expanding the announcement to include all grades of Ateva® EVA and low density polyethylene (LDPE), effective immediately or as contracts allow.
