India's SAPL to enjoy 7-year exclusive license of AKC's green technology for PC manufacturing

Haldia-based Indian PET maker, South Asian Petrochem Ltd (SAPL) has announced a formation of a license agreement with Japanese firm, Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation (AKC) to build a polycarbonate manufacturing plant incorporating AKC's environment friendly green technology. SAPL would enjoy the uniqueness of AKC's green technology for a seven year period since the Japanese firm has informed that it would not give any other license in India. The proposed polycarbonate plant is expected to have a manufacturing capacity of 1,30,000 tpa.
