INEOS Technologies inks technology license agreements with proposed ASCENT complex

10-Oct-14
INEOS Technologies has entered into license agreements for its Innovene S and Innovene G polyethylene technologies to be used by the proposed Appalachian Shale Cracker Enterprise (ASCENT) petrochemical complex currently being evaluated by Odebrecht and Braskem near Parkersburg. The Innovene G and Innovene S plants produce a full range of linear low density and high density polyethylene with multiple catalysts, serving polyethylene customers with innovative and consistent products. Proposed in November 2013, ASCENT would include an ethane Cracker, three polyethylene plants and associated infrastructure for water treatment and energy co-generation. At the end of August, the WV Department of Environmental Protection accepted a Voluntary Remediation Program application submitted by ASCENT to address environmental conditions at the SABIC Innovative Plastics facility in Wood County. “The selection of the Innovene G and Innovene S technologies for this landmark project in the United States is another milestone in the strategic technology partnership between the two companies,” said Peter Williams, CEO of INEOS Technologies. “We are looking forward to working with the ASCENT team to deliver a successful world scale polyethylene complex in the Appalachian Region.”
