Ineos to buy Solvay subsidiaries for rigid films businesses

In this quarter, Ineos is finalise a deal to buy Solvay’s Italian rigid films business, with a combined turnover of E62m. The transaction includes production, marketing and sales of the Adriaplast and Caleppiovinil businesses, located in north-east Italy at Monfalcone and Fucine di Ossana respectively. End use applications of the company's products are in packaging for food, consumer and pharmaceutical products. Solvay is a relatively minor market player for most applications in the rigid plastic foils business, whereas EVC's whose core businesses include rigid films. INEOS is a leading global manufacturer of specialty and intermediate chemicals. The company's production network spans 60 manufacturing facilities in 16 countries globally and a turnover of € 5 billion
