Investment in Indorama-run Eleme Petrochemicals to total US$3.7 bln in the next 4 years

Total investment in Indorama-run Eleme Petrochemicals Company near Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is expected to total US$3.7 bln in the next four years. About US$600 mln is being spent to buy off 65% ownership of the moribund Eleme Petrochemicals Company from the Federal Government and on maintenance turnaround. Apart from a fertiliser plant under construction, over US$800 mln is being invested in a methanol plant and US$200 mln in a low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant.
