Iran's NPC to exclude polymer production from planned Assaluyeh-based project

14-Nov-08
Iran's state-owned National Petrochemical Co (NPC) has decided to exclude polymer production from its proposed Olefins No 12 project in Assaluyeh, to diversify its products, ICIS news reported. The company said at the ICIS World Polymers Conference that it would reduce the planned production capacity of ethylene from 1.8 mln tpa to 600,000 tpa and propylene from 900,000 tpa to 350,000 tpa at the same project to come on stream by 2013. Further, the ethylene and propylene would be used by NPC to feed other derivative projects.
