Malaysia-based Lotte Chemical Titan has restored complete operations at its 440,000 tpa naphtha cracker after it was shut in early August following an outage, as per sources in Reuters. However, a 80,000 tpa cracker continues to remain shut. Sources report that Titan would try to restart the smaller unit as soon as it can, although earlier expectations were that the cracker will be shut for up to 10 days from Aug. 6.
Titan is owned by South Korea's top ethylene maker Lotte Chemical. It operates the two crackers out of Pasir Gudang. It imports naphtha to produce petrochemicals.
