Manjushree Technopack announces Awards for Packaging Innovation and Excellence

On the eve of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, Bangalore based Plastic Packaging Group, Manjushree Technopack, has announced 'The Manjushree Awards for Innovation and Excellence' to recognise work and contributions that have made a significant impact on the plastic packaging industry. Entries are open to companies, organizations and individuals in the Packaging Industry. Announcing the awards, Mr Vimal Kedia, Managing Director, Manjushree Technopack, said, "The Manjushree Awards for Packaging Innovation and Excellence is our way of recognising and honouring outstanding contributions that have made a difference to the plastic packaging industry. In our own small way we would like to encourage individuals and organisations that practice excellence and are sure that recognising excellence is one small step towards making excellence an industry practice. The Manjushree awards will be bi-annual and we hope that in the years to come, the awards will feature prominently on the Plastic Packaging industry scene. We are glad that we have got this opportunity to make a small contribution towards promoting best practices in the plastic packaging business. The Awards will be given under five categories, with two awards under each category (winner and runner-up) and allows for entrants to participate in more than one category, depending on eligibility. The categories and their descriptions are as follows: - -- Manjushree Award for Innovation and Excellence in the area of Plastic Waste Disposal and Recycling - given to individuals and establishments involved in sensible disposal and recycling initiatives. -- Manjushree Award for Innovation and Excellence for Best Design using Plastic - an Award for the most unique and distinctive concept designed to cater to customer needs, with importance given to size, shape, colour, weight and application. -- Manjushree Award for the Fastest Growing Enterprise in Plastic Packaging to the company that encompasses processing, design, development, and manufacturing of plastics and plastic products. This prestigious award recognizes the ambition, focus and resultant growth demonstrated by Plastic Processing Enterprises, with specific focus on two categories namely, Rigid Packaging and Household Plastic Products. Each of these two categories will have two Awards respectively. -- The Manjushree Award for Innovation and Excellence in Conservation of Energy and Ecology will be presented to the most environmentally conscious company in the fraternity. The winners will be chosen based on safe practices, measures, processes, materials and the management of their surroundings. -- The Manjushree Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution to the industry is the fifth Award and will be given to just one winner who will be chosen depending on criteria such as his or her work, higher levels of achievement(s) long standing association, and his or her ability to be indispensable. The Award is given to mark his or her contributions to the Plastic Packaging Industry. A Jury comprising of experts and eminent personalities from the Packaging and other industries and those working towards Environmental Conservation, will evaluate entries and arrive at the winners. The broad set of parameters for each category, based on which entries will be judged will also be made available to all entrants for reference. Companies, Organisations and Individuals from all over the country can apply. All participants will have to mail their entries with all supporting documents as mentioned in the forms, such as brief descriptions, authorisation letters, photographs of the entries, etc., before the last date, which is Thursday, 25th June, 2009. All those who make it to the list of final nominees will be invited to the Awards Ceremony, to be held in Bangalore on Monday, 13th July, 2009, during which the winners will be announced and presented with the Awards (Needs to be discussed - prize money, citation and a commemorative plaque).
