Japan's top petrochemical producer Mitsubishi Chemical Corp., plans to perform planned maintenance at two ethylene plants - the No.1 unit of its Kashima ethylene plant for 50 days and the Mizushima plant for 21 days.
The No.1 unit of at Kashima producing 410,000 tpa ethylene will be shut for 50 days, until July 1. The 496,000 tpa Mizushima plant will be shut for 21 days until June 4. The 516,000 tpa No.2 unit of the Kashima plant is being planned to shutdown for 45 days until Aug. 17. This plant had resumed operations in March after it was forced to shutdown for repairs after a fire in December.
