MoUs proposing investment of Rs 26,000 crore in energy & petrochemicals sectors signed at Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013

Dozen MoUs, proposing investment of Rs 26,000 crore in energy & petrochemicals sectors, were signed on Friday, the first day of three-day Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013. Reliance Industries signed an MoU with the state government for setting up two LNG projects – one at Dahej and the other at Sikka in Jamnagar – at a total investment of Rs 9,500 crore. An MoU was signed with Coastal Gujarat Power Limited, a part of Tata Power, for expanding capacity of its 4,000 MW Mundra UMPP by 1,600 MW. Another MoU was signed with DMICDC for setting up solar manufacturing and solar generation plant with thin film technology. Fertilizer major Kribhco signed an MoU for establishing a 12.7 lakh tonne urea plant at Hazira. Another MoU related to underground gas storage at an investment of Rs500 crore was signed with Europe-based Storengy Limited. GSPC Gas signed MoU for establishing city gas distribution network in 110 villages. An MoU was signed with Geosyndicate Power for utilization of geothermal energy for power generation.
