Powerful chemical blasts occurred at Dengta Jinhang Petrochemical Co. in northeast China's Liaoning province early Sunday morning. One person was killed and two people were reported missing the due to the staggering blasts which reportedly were heard 40 km away from the petrochemical plant. Privately owned Dengta Jinhang Petrochemical Co. manufactures lubricant additives, such as anti-oxidants and petroleum cleaner. Fire tenders with 30 engines fought for more than two hours to tame the blaze.
